Sunita Kosaraju serves as Director, Capacity and Transformation branch of Ontario’s Anti-Racism Directorate (ARD). In this role, she leads initiatives aimed at creating an anti-racist culture within the Ontario Public Service and broader public sector. Her team includes a start-up data analytics shop focussed on race-based data collection, advisory and race-based impact evaluation guided by the Anti-Racism Data Standards.
Sunita has a wealth of experience at the intersection of public policy and data analytics honed through her experience in the OPS and globally. Prior to joining the ARD, she oversaw the second biggest portfolio in government as Manager of Forecasting and Modelling for Ontario’s $26B funding formula for education supporting 2 million students and 72 district school boards. She brings global expertise in research and evaluation, having served as an Economist at the World Bank in Washington, D.C. for over 5 years where she managed teams of researchers and oversaw multi-million dollar investment projects aimed at increasing the equitability, supply and efficiency of education systems in 15 countries in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
Sunita is trained as an MBA from INSEAD located in France and Singapore with a Bachelors in Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University. Her certifications include specialized data science training in Big Data and Predictive Analytics.
